A Yemeni Airbus 310 passenger plane traveling from Yemen's capital, Sanaa, to the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean, crashed early Tuesday as it approached the islands, killing most of the 153 people on board.

It was the second crash in just under a month involving an Airbus passenger jet. The Yemeni plane went down as it was approaching Moroni, the Comoros capital.

FAYETTEVILLE – The College World Series field is set and as a result the NCAA released the bracket and game times for all games and the Arkansas Razorbacks game with the Cal St. Fullerton Titans is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m.
Arkansas and Cal St. Fullerton will meet for the fourth time in their histories on Saturday with the Titans taking all three previous meetings including two at the 1979 College World Series.
The Razorbacks depart for Omaha, Neb., on Wednesday in preparation for the pre-series press conferences, fan sessions and practice times. Jay Leno wrapped up his last show on the May 29 Tonight Show last night - cracking jokes after a long standing ovation at the show’s open, interviewing Conan O’Brien, and listening as James Taylor performed.

It was Jay Leno’s finale Tonight Show closing (see the video above) that was the sweetest moment of the night - thanking the crew, writers, Kevin Eubanks and wife Mavis… before talking about the legacy of his 17-year run on the Tonight Show.

Leno introduced the 68 kids who have been born to Tonight Show staffers during the 17 year gig, saying, “That’s what I’d like my legacy to be. When these kids grow up and they go, ‘Hey, mom and dad, where did you guys meet?’, they’re going to say they met on the stage of the Tonight Show.”

Jay Leno’s last show was wrapped up with support of incoming Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien: “Thank you everybody, thank you for watching. Please give Conan as much support as you’ve given me throughout the years. Good night, we’ll see you in September.”

Wrapping up his 17 year run on The Night Show, Jay Leno was greeted by a standing ‘O’ when he took the stage. During his monologue he thanked all of the people who had helped make his show a success, particularly Michael Jackson, Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton.

Leno paid homage to his wife Mavis Nicholson by saying he was proud to be “leaving this dance with the same girl I came in with.” See bio and photos of his wife here.

Jay had some great one-liners, including a parting shot at O.J. Simpson. He reported that while he was cleaning out his office, “I found O.J.’s knife. I had it the whole time.”

Soderling, the world's 25th ranked player, had 61 unforced errors against Ferrer but made up for his occasional sloppiness by recording 64 winners.

Sunday's match will mark the fourth meeting between Nadal and Soderling; Nadal is a perfect 3-0 against the Swede.

We examined a total of 194 patients over 18 years of age with chronic prostatitis syndrome and no evidence of structural or functional lower genitourinary tract abnormalities. The following data were obtained for each patient: clinical history–the severity of chronic prostatitis symptoms scored by a Croatian translation of the NiH CPSI questionnaire, clinical status including digitorectal examination, urethral swab specimens, and selective samples of urine and expressed prostatic secretion, according to the 4-glass localization test (meares and Stamey localization technique).

Patients were treated orally with antimicrobial agents in doses and duration according to clinical practice in Croatia. An infectious etiology was determined in 169 (87%) patients. Chlamydia trachomatis was the causative pathogen in 38 (20%), Trichomonas vaginalis in 35 (18%), Enterococcus in 36 (19%) and Escherichia coli in 35 (18%) patients. In the remaining 25 patients the following causative pathogens were found: Ureaplasma urealyticum, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus agalactiae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Comparison of symptoms scores and effect on quality of life has shown that the most severe clinical presentation of disease was recorded in patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis caused by E. coli and Enterococcus (p<>0.2< 0.5), but not in inflammatory chronic pelvic pain syndrome caused by T. vaginalis

Visteon Bankruptcy

Visteon is Ford's biggest supplier of auto parts, providing the pieces for the F-150 right on down to the new hybrid models that are touted to be the saviors of the industry. Now Ford gets to finance this bankruptcy, or liquidation may follow - and that would put Ford itself at risk.

Parts suppliers are the heart and soul of auto manufacturing in America and elsewhere - and they are in deep trouble. We lose them and the whole system will collapse. Foreign and domestic alike. Number two on Visteon's big customer list? Hyundai.

Visteon Corp., a former division of Ford Motor Co. and one of the country's largest auto suppliers, put its U.S. operations into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Thursday morning.

Visteon's bankruptcy is the latest casualty in the U.S. auto industry, which has been hit by the Chrysler LLC bankruptcy and awaits an imminent filing by General Motors Corp. Though expected for months, a Visteon filing could complicate matters for Ford, the one Detroit auto maker to so far avoid government aid. Visteon doesn't have any financing lined up from banks, and will have to lean heavily on Ford and other auto companies for cash to get it through a restructuring.

As of Dec. 31, Visteon employed 11,000 salaried workers and 22,500 hourly workers world-wide. It also had $893 million in unfunded pension obligations.

Visteon UK filed in March and closed three British plants. Chances are they will be forced to do the same here, as Chairman Donald Stebbins indicates that "capital structure and legacy costs are not sustainable" given the plant shutdowns and auto industry restructuring. That means more layoffs of current workers and benefit cuts to retirees, when translated into real world implications.

This could be the first of many, as suppliers are scrambling to find the way to make it through this dry spell. The banks aren't helping.

Visteon's bankruptcy comes at the beginning of what is likely to be a painful global contraction among companies that supply auto parts. With auto makers building fewer cars and taking longer to pay their bills, suppliers are burning through cash and finding banks reluctant to lend to an industry beset by uncertainty.

Not only are the banks reluctant to lend, it turns out that one bank in particular has slowed the process down considerably, at least as far as GM and Chrysler are concerned. Remember that $5 billion that the feds made available to parts suppliers back in March? Turns out that Citibank, recipient of $50 billion in TARP funds mind you, was "overwhelmed" by the program and wouldn't answer supplier inquiries, even though the auto companies had approved these suppliers for payout.

All our paperwork has been in for weeks,” said the CEO of a Detroit company that makes molded parts.

After General Motors Corp. approved his company for the program, the CEO spent weeks trying to obtain guarantees on his receivables, including three weeks of due diligence with his lender and others.

“But Citibank does not return phone calls or e-mails,” he said.

The program allows suppliers designated by GM or Chrysler L.L.C. to get paid early for their parts shipments or to use government guarantees of payment to borrow from their private lenders. The cash outlays are administered by Citibank, but GM and Chrysler decide which of their suppliers can participate.

Another CEO, who runs a Detroit-area trim supplier, faced similar problems. GM and Chrysler “say we are on the list of suppliers qualified for aid,” he said. But he has yet to hear from Citibank, which he said is overwhelmed by supplier demand.

As of mid-May, Chrysler won court approval to pay these suppliers outside the Treasury program, and GM is expected to do the same. And since it only covered the parts that have already shipped, it can't help suppliers get through the shutdowns that are occurring now. Quick aid will be imperative to getting these companies past this summer.

Governor Granholm made an ominous plea on Tuesday concerning the suppliers. Dr. Ed Montgomery was in town to talk about grants for energy programs, which is a good thing and all, but doesn't come close to addressing the massive job loss we could soon be facing if these guys don't get some help. Are the Feds listening?

"We are in the next week going to see some massive change in our economy. Whatever happens in the next week, we know that things are going to go dark for a while," she said. "The urgency cannot be overstated. We need to provide the suppliers a means to get through the next 60 to 90 days."

Auto parts suppliers account for over 600,000 jobs across the country according to the Center for Automotive Research. Between that and the closing dealerships, the wave of job loss threatens to be tremendous indeed, and will accelerate into the fall, causing a drag on any economic recovery this country could hope to have.

Let's hope the federal government gets a clue and provides some quick relief this time, and please, let's see if we can avoid getting this tangled up in the banks. Don't know how that would work out - but just do it. Find a way. We can't afford to lose these companies because they can't get through the "red tape" that bailed-out banks are putting in their way.

Honduras Earthquake 7.1 Magnitude May 28, 2009 - Watch Video

A strong earthquake struck off the coast of Honduras early Thursday, May 28, 2009, causing people to run into the streets in their pajamas as far away as Guatemala
City. The magnitude 7.1 quake struck at 3:24 a.m., collapsing shacks in Belize and Honduras.

One death has been reported by Carlos Gonzales, deputy director of the Honduras Permanent Emergency Commission. A man was killed after his house collapsed in Pineda de la Lima, 120 miles north of the capital.

The U.S. Geological Survey in Golden, Colorado indicates that the epicenter was 80 miles northeast of La Ceiba, Honduras, and 200 miles from Tegucigalpa, the capital city. The quake was felt strongly across the Honduras Caribbean coast. A tsunami watch for Honduras, Belize and Guatemala was issued but has since been lifted.

According to firefighter Juan Sevilla, wooden homes collapsed in Puerto Cortes, 120 miles north of Tegucigalpa, as well as a stadium wall in Comayagua, 60 miles north of the capital. A major bridge across the Ulua River suffered major damage. A water tower toppled in the town of Independence. Electricity was out all the way to the Mexican border.

Dozens of workers were evacuated from factories in San Pedro Sula after cracks were discovered in the buildings. In the same city, a two-story warehouse
caught fire. The roads in several cities are reported to have sustained cracks.

National Emergency Minister Melvin Hulse made a radio plea, “I urge you not to panic, but to remain calm. Your government is monitoring the situation and will be keeping you informed.”

The USGS is reporting that a magnitude 4.8 aftershock hit off Honduras about three hours after the initial quake.
